Shady Records, Beats By Dre and Distinct Life Launch “Shady Life”
Shady Records, Distinct Life, and Beats by Dre come together to launch #ShadyLife. Read more after the jump. Detroit’s own Shady Records and Distinct Life have come together to launch “Shady Life”, a collaborative new collection that includes a Pill in partnership with Beats By Dre.
In 2013-14, Shady Records began celebrating their Detroit roots with an ongoing partnership with the brand Detroit Vs. Everybody. The heritage of the label’s home city is an important part of the Shady Brand, which was embodied within the three word mantra of the collab, “Shady Vs. Everybody”.
When looking for a new local partnership, Shady Records saw a natural fit with Rick Williams and his brand, Distinct Life. Their relationship began through Williams’ other notable venture, Burn Rubber, the infamous Detroit-based sneaker shop. The entertaining day-to-day of the shop and its staff are the subject of two seasons of the Shady Films produced web series “Detroit Rubber”.
Rick is a passionate designer that always finds ways to epitomize Detroit in his work that earns universal appeal and attention. Partnering with a self-made, talented designer that has found a way to stay grounded to Detroit, while influencing the rest of the world is a perfect match for Shady.
Shady Life kicks off with a capsule collection that includes a crew neck sweatshirt and hoodie, as well as a limited edition Beats Pill. The opportunity to include a piece with Beats By Dre, a globally recognized brand, is a proud addition to the collection and in line with the opportunity to continue to bring Detroit to the world stage. Shady Life will be available on ShadyRecords.com on Tuesday Dec 16th at 1pm ET.
